Volunteers are the heart and soul of any successful event. In fact, most charitable events wouldn’t happen without the passionate support of the outstanding volunteers who give of their personal time to lend a helping hand. This holds especially true for the Scotiabank Pro-Am for Alzheimer’s in Support of Baycrest. Our event relies on our outstanding volunteers for its success. Over the years, we have had many volunteers, most of whom return annually to ensure we succeed. We call these volunteers our “Pro-Am Stars.” We’re excited to introduce you to a few of them now:
I will definitely be back in 2018 to volunteer for the event as I really enjoyed the experience this past year.
There were many highlights for me personally this year but being able to meet some of the All Time great NHL stars and being able to do important volunteer work and be honoured for it with a Hall Of Fame induction were my greatest highlights.
There are too many highlights to name. Meeting some of the pro hockey stars of my childhood such as Nik Antropov and Tomas Kaberle was incredibly cool!! Being honoured with a Hall Of Fame induction for our work was also very cool!!
Most certainly it was an honour and pleasure to serve as the Bag Valet Team Leader and greet all the guest. I absolutely love doing this!! But I would be remiss if I didn’t say that meeting and kibitzing with the hockey stars, especially Mark Napier, John Scott, Pat Boutette and my all-time favourite Lanny McDonald, was a total thrill! The cherry on top was having myself and my sons inducted into the Baycrest Scotiabank Pro-Am Hall Of Fame. A real honour!
